Welcome to the prairie!

It all started here, in a small cabin at the back of a meadow :-)

In my first life, I was a web designer. One day, I had the unusual idea of setting up my office in a cabin surrounded by old oak and chestnut trees.

Being surrounded by nature every day sparked my imagination and my desire to create. Before long, I wanted to bring some of that simple, inspiring beauty into my home. Between lines of code, I found myself sketching objects: lamps, shelves, and natural pieces full of character, designed to transform the atmosphere of a room.

Prairie Studio was born from that desire: to create furniture with simple, natural silhouettes that evoke emotion.

And to bring a little surprise into the home. After all, the most memorable interiors are rarely the ones that look like everyone else's.

I mainly work with ultra-local wood, often sourced from trees that have fallen naturally or been cut nearby. Beautiful wood that hasn’t traveled across the planet or come from devastated forests. I love the idea of creating beautiful things with the wood we already have around us, wood that can be found in a garden or close to home.

I use hand tools as much as possible. I prefer making wood shavings rather than dust. These “cordless” techniques also allow me to work outdoors, surrounded by nature, which still constantly fuels my imagination.

I believe beautiful things can be made in a more respectful way: with local materials, time, and fewer machines.
